PRICING
Initially it is hard to quote for a piece until Lucy has a clear idea of what type of picture you wish to have painted and the extent of detail you wish to have incorporated.
Most of her commissions start at £950 (basic price) for an A3 and go up to £8,000 (for pictures c. 1 x 1.5m). Lucy is also able to create small and simpler paintings to suit your budget..
MOUNTING
All UK commissioned pieces come in an off white presentation mount. We recommend sending overseas artwork in a tube.
FRAMING OPTIONS
We have found that in general clients like to select and arrange their own frames but in special cases we are able to arrange to have a bespoke hand made frame made by ‘Fabulous Frames’.
PRINT OPTIONS
Bespoke prints can be made of your painting as a keepsake for family members. Our fine art studio prints are all made to order and are hand decorated and signed by Lucy. All our inks are colour-fast and printed onto archival paper.
THE PROCESS
Here is a quick guide to let you know how the process of commissioning a painting works...
Stage 1. IMAGE SELECTION
Select the type of painting you would like, eg House portrait, Loveheart painting, World painting, Playroom painting.
Stage 2. THE PRICE LIST
You might want something simple such as a small name painting or very large intricate detailed painting i.e. of your holiday, wedding, party etc.
The Studio will send you a basic price list for the type of picture you want with a list of sizes and the sort of costs and additional extras that are involved.
Stage 3. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Once you have come back to us with the size and type of picture you would like to go for, we would need a small selection of photographs and a list of 1-10 items that you would like included in the painting e.g. pet, car, members of the family.
(Please note that for House Portraits, in some special cases Lucy can pay a visit to see the house, but there will usually be additional charges for this).
Stage 4. THE SKETCH
Once Lucy has all the information at her fingertips she will draw out a very rough sketch to give you an idea of the layout and composition.
(This should usually take about 1-3 weeks depending on level of detail involved and Lucy’s availability and schedule.)
Stage 5. FIRST APPROVAL & CHANGES
You will be sent a j peg of the rough sketch to make sure you are happy with the lay out etc. Hopefully you will be happy with everything but should you wish to make any minor changes let Lucy know. At this stage it is possible to change things.
(Please note that additional charges will be added if there are any extra items of detail that you wish to have included that were not already discussed).
Stage 6. PAYMENT OF DEPOSIT
At this stage we ask that you pay a deposit of 10% of the painting using BACS transfer or cheque. We will contact you with payment options.
Stage 7. THE PAINTING
Once the sketch has been approved and the deposit has been paid Lucy will create your painting. This process should take 2-6 weeks depending on the level of detail involved and Lucy’s availability and schedule.
Stage 8. SECOND APPROVAL, TITLE & DEDICATION
You will be sent a j peg of the painting along with a suggestion for the title of the painting. If you are happy with everything your painting will be put in a bespoke presentation mount.
You have the option of having a personal dedication handwritten along the bottom of the painting..eg.'For dear Wendy, happy memories of our dream home love Peter xx'
Stage 9. PAYMENT
At this stage you would pay the remaining 90% for the painting and any prints you may wish to have made of it and p&p charges.
Stage 10. POSTAGE
When the payment has been made your package will be sent to the address provided.
