Lucy’s father lived in a fantasy world most of the time and fancied himself as being like the father from ‘The Railway Children’ and he loved trains and stations. Over many years he created a vast collection of unique, antique, tin-plate toy trains and stations. He obsessively collected pieces from all round the world and it was, for a time, the most extensive collection in the country. This picture captures Lucy, her brother and her father playing with the collection. The centrepiece being ‘The Golden Station’ which was extremely rare and his pride and joy!
